What’s Covered?

Lifetime Workmanship Warranty – Covers any defects in our installation for as long as you own the system.

Extended Product Labour Warranty – Covers all labour costs for repairs or replacements after the manufacturer’s labour coverage expires, up to the manufacturer’s product warranty.

  • Every product has different warranty coverage. However, as an example, if a system has a 12-year product warranty but only 1 year of manufacturer labour coverage, JR Gas & Water will cover all labour from years 2–12 at no additional cost.
  • Beyond the manufacturer’s product warranty (e.g., years 13–25 in this example), a service call-out fee applies, but the labour cost to complete the repair is still covered.
  • After year 25, standard service and repair fees apply.

Applies to:

  • Hot water systems
  • Plumbing, gas, and filtration systems
  • Purchases made at Installed Today when installed by JR Gas & Water

🚨 Exclusions: Labour for any refrigeration-related work on heat pumps is not covered under this warranty.


Warranty Requirements

To maintain lifetime workmanship and extended product labour warranty coverage, the following must be met:

1. Ongoing Service & Maintenance

  • A water quality test must be completed by JR Gas & Water at least once every five years and one month.
  • If a water quality test has not been conducted previously, it must be completed within 6 months of any product installation.
  • Any plumbing, gas, or electrical service must be completed by JR Gas & Water within the last 24 months. This can include:
    • Tap repairs
    • Toilet installations
    • Hot water servicing
    • Gas fitting
    • Any other plumbing-related service
  • A 6-month post-installation follow-up service must be completed after installation.
  • Service schedules may be adjusted based on water quality findings, and these new timelines must be followed to maintain warranty coverage.

2. Water Filtration Systems

For water filtration systems, all replacement filter cartridges must be supplied and installed by JR Gas & Water within 13 months of the previous replacement to maintain warranty coverage.


What’s Not Covered?

Third-party work & unauthorized repairs – Any work completed by a non-approved contractor will void the warranty. All servicing, maintenance, and repairs must be carried out by:

  • JR Gas & Water
  • Proficient Electrical
  • A JR Gas & Water recommended contractor

Unauthorized third-party costs – JR Gas & Water does not cover the costs of any unauthorized third-party inspections, servicing, repairs, or installations that the end user has engaged.

Failure to meet service requirements – Missing a required water quality test or scheduled service will permanently void the warranty.

Water filtration neglect – If filter cartridges are not replaced within 13 months, the filtration system warranty is void.

Non-original purchaser – The warranty only applies to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred.

Manufacturer product defects – This warranty does not replace the manufacturer’s standard product warranty.

Refrigeration work on heat pumps – Labour for refrigeration-related components is not covered under this warranty.

Catastrophic Failures & Full System Replacements – If a system experiences a total failure post-manufacturer warranty that requires complete replacement, labour costs for installing a new system will not be covered.

  • Examples of catastrophic failures include:
    • Burst tanks due to corrosion or pressure issues
    • Irreparable leaks that compromise system safety
    • Electronic component failures that render the system inoperable
  • In such cases, JR Gas & Water can provide a quote for supply and installation of a new system, but warranty labour coverage will not apply.

Service & Repair Response Times

🕐 Initial Assessment (Remote) – Within 1 Business Day

  • Customers must send a video of the fault for our team to assess remotely.

🏠 Onsite Inspection & First Visit – Within 5 Business Days

  • A technician will visit your property to diagnose the issue and complete repairs if possible.

Full Repair (If Parts Are Required) – Within 2 Weeks

  • If parts need to be ordered, the customer is responsible for sourcing them.
  • JR Gas & Water covers one visit per fault.
  • If a second visit is required to install a part, the customer must pay a service call-out fee.

How to Make a Claim

1️⃣ Call JR Gas & Water at 1800 161 280.
2️⃣ Provide proof of water quality tests and service history.
3️⃣ Send a video of the fault for initial assessment.
4️⃣ JR will schedule an onsite visit within 5 business days if required.
5️⃣ If repairs require ordering parts, a follow-up visit will be scheduled within 2 weeks.

If approved, we’ll complete all necessary labour at no cost (within the coverage period). If the warranty has lapsed, a paid service will be required to restore system eligibility.
